After much research, I purchased the 620P with a 24" b&c for my intended usage. In my humble opinion, and after use, the 620P is the best 60cc chainsaw on the market for the money. The saw is built incredibly well, very reliable and has impressive torque. Is it the fastest saw? No. But properly tuned it's by no means a slouch either. This is a saw that would most likely last the average firewood cutter a lifetime. No electronics to fail like on most modern chainsaws either. The 620 handles a 24" b&c with authority! In fact it feels more like a 70cc saw. Echo utilizes a long stroke design engine. This generates more torque and easily makes up for any lack of high revving speed. This is a workhorse of a chainsaw! Ideal for felling and bucking big trees. For trees 18"-20" or less and limbing purposes I recommend the 501P. Simply because the 620 is too heavy for extended limbing purposes IMO. Especially limbing pine trees. The 620P and 501P make an excellent combo.

This is a great professional saw at a better price than competitors. Had no problem running the 24" bar in white ash which is comparable to oak. Probably would handle 27" bar well too, and I will get one when the need arises. Love the oil and fuel caps. Easier to keep clean than flip caps, although the plastic retainers get in the way when filling. Saw is very easy to start and runs a long time on full tank. Only complaint is it is easy to hit the off switch inadvertently when wearing thick gloves. And chain tensioner screw is not the greatest and seems like it will need replacement eventually. Despite these very minor issues, it's five stars, and I'll be buying more Echo products.

I purchased this chainsaw with the 24" bar so I'd have one saw capable of doing all the cutting tasks I'll ever do. Yes, it's heavy for extensive limbing and I may purchase a lighter saw for that purpose, but it's good exercise and the ability to run a longer bar means less bending. Over-all this chainsaw is built like a tank. If properly taken care of it will most likely last my lifetime. I cut some Locust trees with it using the supplied LPX chain. It cut through it like it was pine. I'm a fan of the LPX chain. Keep it sharp and it performs excellently. This chainsaw has plenty of power, starts easily, is designed so it's easy to perform routine cleaning and maintenance. A straight-forward well designed chainsaw without all the electronic technology to fail. I love the simple on/off switch and choke lever, as well as the screw caps instead of flip caps. Only complaint - no bar scabbard was supplied with a brand new saw! That should be a standard item like seat belts in a vehicle.
