Jim-Gem OST Dibble Bar
Works best in non-rocky soil that is easy to penetrate. Blade is wedge-shaped in cross section. Bar is 38” long. Blade is 3”W x 10-1/4”L, 3/4” wide at top, tapering to a thin wedge. Features a cast blade of special alloy steel. Blade and footstep are cast as one piece so footstep won’t break or bend, even under heavy use. Blade “spike” fits into handle to form reinforced joint. Strong weld at handle and blade joint.

This is the best tree planting bar I have used. They are strong making them great for heavy clay soils. Planting hardwood bareroot seedlings with long roots this is the best tool I have used. I have tried the other tree bars, shovels, augers, and its still the main tool I use to plant bareroots. If you are planting small conifer bareroots in soft soil then you can get away with a speed spade. However, if you are putting in work where you need depth and leverage then you found the best.
This bar is very well made and works perfectly. I don’t expect to ever have to replace it.
This definitely made planting tree saplings much easier! It is very well built and easy to use. I would highly recommend!
