The ioLight Compact Cell Imager lineup consists of inverted micro-imaging devices engineered for incubator, safety cabinet, and benchtop cell culture monitoring. Featuring a 1.0 µm optical resolution (NA 0.25, equivalent to a 10x objective) and an approximate 1.2 x 0.9 mm field of view, each unit captures 5 MP color still images (2592 x 1944 pixels) and MPEG-4 video. They support multiple transmitted illumination modes, including Brightfield, Darkfield, and Digital Phase Contrast. Designed to fit inside standard CO₂ incubators (210 x 140 x 132 mm footprint, 1.8 kg), they feature sealed power cables and operate reliably up to 90% non-condensing relative humidity. All models accommodate standard Petri dishes, well plates, and flasks up to 48 mm in height, connecting wirelessly via integrated Wi-Fi to mobile or desktop browsers for remote image acquisition, Z-stacking, and time-lapse recordings.
This entry-level configuration provides high-resolution inverted brightfield and darkfield microscopy designed specifically for live-cell culture maintenance inside standard CO₂ incubators. It relies strictly on trans-illumination modes—including standard Brightfield, Low NA brightfield, High contrast brightfield, Darkfield, and Digital phase contrast—to render morphology, density, and general health metrics of unstained cultures like HEK-293 or HeLa cells.
