Description
USGS Forestry Scales Suunto MC2G Navigator Compass with Global Needle, Azimuth
Liquid-damped magnetic steel needle and long-lasting precision pivot. Built-in magnetic declination screw and magnifying lens. Sighting mirror with luminous points. Additional sighting hole. Clear protractor base is imprinted in red and features skid-proof rubber map feet. Clinometer measures heights and slopes to ±90°. Lanyard and declination tool included. Baseplate Dimensions: 2-1/2” x 3-13/16”. Features Metric or English scales, a global needle, and luminous bezel.

Very nice compass with large mirror, global needle and phosphorescent ring that glows brightly in the dark. This compass was originally designed by Recta of switzerland (company purchased by Suunto), and the needle has been modified to settle quicker, and now includes and additional small luminous marker on the black portion that points South. Purchased the USGS scaled version so it can be used with 7.5’ USGS topo maps. Suunto cordura case works well with this compass.
