I purchased this hat and it is a great hat for bad weather. I also got the mesh back hat to wear in summer when fishing. These are my new favorite hats. I will watch for the version that is sold out and order it when available. Happy with service.
Solid feel. Have not tested the hat yet in wet weather, but the wax is tangible and it feels like it would be protective and dry. I have worn it in hot weather and surprisingly it wasn't unbearably hot like you may expect. The fit is great, the strap is quality and sturdy. I am a fan of this hat.
