Razor-Back^® Steel Spades

Get this spade, if you have digging to do, just get it. It's an absolute workhorse. I ground a blade on mine and it works just as well as shovels twice the price. It makes a heck of transplanting tool and cuts through small to medium roots like a champ, it'll muck out drains and culverts like it's going out of style. Just prepare yourself and eat your wheaties cause it's heavy. Sturdy, tough, and takes no prisoners but, don't skip gym day.

This heavy-duty spade has become my go-to for chopping and digging through tough, compacted material. It works great in hard clays, fragipans, saprolite, ortstein, and many other materials. You can use it to quickly punch holes in geotextile. My one issue is that the foot pads break off relatively easily, but the overall construction is absolutely solid.

I love my Razorback steel spade. It took some time to adjust to the weight and the rubber pad broke off in about 4 days (oh well- it was unnecessary anyway) but I don\'t think I\'ll use another spade again- nor will I likely ever need one because this is so impressively sturdy and powerful. My landscaping job requires extensive digging through hard clay, roots and rocks- and my Razorback handles every challenge I encounter. If you\'re in the market, go for this one. You\'ll save time on jobs and save money no longer replacing broken shovels.
