Description

Diehard Root Dip, 1 lb. package

Use these root dips to inoculate the bare roots of plants before planting. The root dips work in nearly all species except rhododendrons, azaleas, and laurels. DieHard™ Root Dip contains low host specificity endo- and ectomycorrhizae fungi. DieHard™ Ecto Root Dip contains ectomycorrhizae fungi only and is ideal for aspen, arborvitae, beech, birch, chestnut, fir hemlock, hickory, oak, pecan, pine, poplar, and spruce. Both root dips contain Horta-Sorb™ SM, a co-polymer gel which absorbs and holds water to keep plant roots from drying out. Also contain humic acids, biostimulants, beneficial bacteria, soluble sea kelp, and yucca plant extracts to promote rapid root development. Application: Mix a 1 lb. package of DieHard™ Root Dip with 5 gallons of water to treat up to 2,000 seedlings (depending on size of seedling root). Mix 3 oz. of DieHard™ Ecto Root Dip with 2-1/2 gallons of water to treat up to 550 seedlings or mix 15 oz. with 10 gallons of water to treat up to 2,200 seedlings (depending on size of seedling root).

Hello, I noticed that our bucket of root dip has been smelling worse and worse over the last few weeks. We keep the mixture in a 50 gallon garbage can in our tree cooler (35-40 degrees). It's been mixed for maybe a month now and I was wondering if it has an expiration date after it's been mixed.
This product should be used with in the first couple of days of mixing it up.
Is the Ecto root dip recommended for fruit trees?
This product can be used on fruit trees.
What is shelf life of unused product?
The shelf life for the unused product is 2 years.

Always ordered the Die-Hard Root Dip Gel for our tree and shrub sale. It works great and helps improve new seedling survival. My department has worked with this company for years and never had issues. Usually have cheaper prices than other suppliers.

We order in bulk and split up to smaller bags to people who order from our tree & shrub sale. People have commented that this has helped with seedling survival, compared to seedlings that weren't treated with the root dip!
