LaMotte BioPaddle Surface Microbe Hunter Activity Kit

This kit brings exciting STEM-based, hands-on learning into the classroom! Students are guided through the culturing and presumptive identification of common microbes using innovative BioPaddles® that each contain microbe-specific media enclosed in a sterile vial. Activities include discovering factors that influence the growth and removal of surface microbes, designing and evaluating cleaning protocols, and comparing the effectiveness of antimicrobial materials. Students will focus on surface characteristics, microbial diversity, biofilms, surface microbe identification, sanitizers, and disinfectants. Kit includes 10 BioPaddles for performing the first two activities, 10 magnifying lenses, 5 expandable and adaptable activities, a digital Student Guide and Teacher Guide on CD, PowerPoint presentations for iPad, ID Guides, resources, and links.
