I purchased one of these vest my first year of Forestry school. I cruised timber with it during after school job and during my mensuration course. During year 2 I started to notice the stitching on the compass pocket was failing, before long i was placing my compass in my left chest pocket because I wore the right pocket slam out. Then the back pocket ripped all the way across the top. I ended up buying the same model again as I liked the high vis design and breathable material. After 8 months of cruising and flagging lines this vest was again losing all the stitching and the compass pocket totally fell off out. Do not buy this vest if you plan on testing its durability in a work setting, maybe I just live in Eastern NC where the woods are thick and nasty or maybe the quality of this product is subpar
We were looking for small safety vests for our female biologists. Although the small size vest is smaller by girth, it is very long, and fits a woman like a mini-skirt. Dan Thanks for the review and for choosing Forestry Suppliers. To meet class 2 standards vests are required to have at least 775 sq. in. of safety yellow or safety orange back ground material and 201 sq. in. of reflective striping. To fit all the required material in a vest that is not too baggy it must be longer. Tech Support
Pros: large pockts that hold Munnsell and field books etc. Also, cell phone pocket is adequate for modern smart phones. Cons: Short life span. Velcro wore out after 1.5 years and stitching is all coming undone. My last JimGem vest lasted 10 years until i wore holes in the pockets...
