I've been using these boots for the past 10 years on my job delineating wetlands, mitigation monitoring and conducting forest assessments. Some of the things I like about them are the tight ankle for a firm fit and the thick rubber. I have coworkers who dislike these boots for the same reason. The fit is secure and I have never had my boot stick in the mud while inadvertantly pulling my foot out of the boot. The thick rubber uppers act like great protective chaps when wading through briers and multiflora rose, although they can be hot in the summer.
