Kestrel 5400FW Fire Weather Meter Pro WBGT with LiNK and Vane Mount
An all-in-one weather station and heat safety meter, the 5400FW provides a complete solution for wildland firefighters! The 5400FW measures vital environmental factors and features built-in calculation of Probability of Ignition (PIG) and Fine Dead Fuel Moisture (FDFM) without the need for reference tables. In addition, the meter calculates Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), an important measure of heat stress for firefighters since WBGT includes the effects of radiant heat from the sun, fire, or hot surfaces. WBGT is calculated from on-board digital sensors with no tedious setup or maintenance required. The 5400FW also measures wind speed, direction (wind direction and orientation), relative humidity, temperature, wet bulb temperature (psychrometric), altitude, density altitude, barometric pressure, crosswind/headwind/tailwind, heat stress index, dew point temperature, station pressure (absolute pressure), wind chill, globe temperature, naturally aspirated wet bulb temperature, and thermal work limit. The meter tracks and logs over 10,000 sets of time-stamped data. Use the on-screen graphing of history to observe environmental trends and more intuitively predict fire behavior. LiNK wireless connectivity lets you view and share readings and graphs remotely on your mobile device or PC. You can also clip the 5400FW into the included vane mount to set up a weather and heat safety monitoring station (tripod sold separately). Other features include a compass and a large, hi-res, hi-contrast, graphic display that is easily readable in bright sunlight and is backlit for use in low light. The 5400FW is waterproof to IP67 standards, floats, and is drop tested to MIL-STD-810G standards. Lanyard, carry pouch, lithium AA battery (average life 400 hours), vane mount, certificate of conformity, and instruction manual are included. Five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
