The silky hand saw is a great tool for quickly cutting through material too big for a machete and too small to justify bringing a chainsaw. Much more durable than the cheap department store folding saws.
The Ultra Accel is a very solid tool. The handle, cast metal with an overmold grip, has been perfect over the last year of hard use. I'm a maintainer on the Appalachian Trail and this saw gets a lot of work. It's solid, but not too heavy to carry in a pack in the backcountry. The blade has stayed sharp, although it's about time for a new one about now! I would definitely buy this saw again. Straight blade or curved? Your choice - they're both great!
