Description
25-Gallon Ooze Tube Tree Watering System
Designed by an ISA®-certified arborist, the patented Ooze Tube uses a unique drip emitter system to control the rate of water flow to a tree. Drip emitters attach to the bottom of the Ooze Tube, allowing the water in the tube to empty gradually as inlet pressure in each drip emitter drops. When the water output is reduced, the tree is weaned off the controlled water supply, sends out feeder roots, and becomes better established. The Ooze Tube installs easily and securely using a wooden stake (included). Made in USA.

A great idea at a good cost. However, we started with a dozen 2 months ago and keep patching and trying to get the drip emitters functioning. Very thin plastic and weak design on emitters pushed into the thin plastic. Generally, a great idea and the two-week drip is ideal for hot climate crisis but needs improvement to last longer here in Yosemite, California.
I have started a small orchard of fruit trees along the front range of the Colorado Rockies at about 6500 feet in elevation. This orchard is at our retirement home, so we only get there every two months, plus or minus, for a week at a time. We started the orchard 4 years ago, adding to the orchard every summer. From the very start we have provided each tree with an ooze tube since the only watering available on a consistent basis would be rain. We have a friend stop by once a month to fill the 25 gallon ooze tube for each tree. We now have over 20 trees and have only lost two apricots over the years, that we took a chance on to begin with. I swear by the ooze tubes to establish trees that will not get consistent watering for whatever reasons. They also make wonderful winter protection as we fill the space in with mulch to keep the roots warm through winter. The tubes are odd enough to deer and other wildlife, that they keep away from the young shoots and fruit!!
The ring I received looks nothing like this photo. It is flat and tall and there is nothing ring like about it! I very much wanted to return this item but we did not have time to return and wait to hopefully receive what we thought we had ordered. It does the job but is so ugly looking!; not at all the nice ring shaped look at the base of the tree. I will get a ring shaped tree gator but not from this source!
