Description

Tree Bandage Wound Dressing, 1-Gallon Jug

A unique solution for trees with damaged limbs or trunks! Tree Bandage penetrates into the wound and forms a glassious covering that actually becomes part of the tree. Non-toxic and non-hazardous with zero VOC, the water-based formula will not harm the tree or bush. When applied, the silica in Tree Bandage forms a silicon dioxide (quartz) protective bandage. Only minutes after application, the bandage begins forming. Within a week, the bandage is usually completely hardened, allowing calluses to form over the wounded area. Immediately after trimming or pruning, apply Tree Bandage using a brush or sprayer (when treating large areas or shrubs). Two or three applications may be required to fully cover the wound area. Coverage is 100 square feet per gallon per coat.

I had a large, rotting maple limb (14" diam) that I had to remove. But, after I made the cut, I was dismayed to see that the rot had proceeded about 4 inches deep into the main trunk. So I carved out all the rot, creating a wooden bowl on the side of the tree (shaped to allow good drainage). A desperate measure to try and save the tree. I then applied a heavy dose of this Tree Bandage product to the bowl. In a few weeks, the wooden bowl turned white, like old wood near the ocean that has been bleached by sun and salt. It looks great, the bugs and squirrels have shown no interest in digging at it. Very pleased! In the spring I plan on tucking a bird house into the bowl.

Great product. Extensive catalogue came with the order. We used the tree wound spray on our apple and pear orchard. The application was easy. Trees seem to have accepted the spray just fine. Non-toxic and easy clean-up.
