I like this product very much I only wish it was a foot taller and more flighting . Idrill post holes 3 feet deep and had to add a foot to the auger outside of that this auger meet all tests I have put it thru
My wife and I own a timber tract in Northeast Texas. Three years ago our pine plantation was decimated by the Texas drought. We lost about 5000 trees. We planned our replanting this winter but didn't want to use a Jim Gem dibble or other spade planting tools and the ground was fairly hard. We elected to use a Stihl BT45 Gas powered drill and the 2" Power Planter Earth Auger. We planted 5350 trees in four days with a crew of 4 over 17 acres. The Power Planter Auger Bits are durable, tough and will last for several hole drillings. In softer soils, this product should last a life time. After 5000+ holes, the auger began to show some wear but it still drills. Planting takes longer with this product as you must make sure to get the soil packed around the bear roots of the seedlings. Getting the depth you need is very easy. I highly recommend this product as it is as advertised. If your a professional landscaper, drilling small holes for perennials, annuals or bulbs using either a half inch electric or gas powered drill will definitely speed up your planting production.
