Nalgene^® Acid Bottle

The 15 ml Nalgene Acid Bottle has been helpful for dispensing Round-Up and similar glyphosate-based weed killers to the cut surfaces of invasive vines, shrubs and trees. For actively growing invasive oriental bittersweet and wisteria we cut the vines close to the ground and apply drops of the herbicide to the cut surfaces. For autumn olive and young Ailanthus we cut as near the ground as convenient and treat the cut surface. When necessary we treat the cambium layer where we've girdled larger trees. Avoid touching the cut surface to avoid picking up saw dust which can clog the tip. Unless the bottle has been overfilled, drops of herbicide do not come out except when the bottle is squeezed. We tie a piece of flagging tape around the neck of the bottle to make it easy to find when we place it on its side on the ground. This bottle has been excellent for careful application of glyphosate solutions to cut surfaces of invasive perennials.
