One other thing. The original metal housing had a rubber roller the tape would roll on as it fed in and out of the case. The new plastic one has no roller and the face of the tape drags over a solid piece of plastic. The result is that the numbers wear off quickly.

The hook tends to break easily, and they are hard to repair, even though parts are available.

I have bought this product for almost 20 years. It has gone through two major Model designs. The original version was a metal version that allowed a person to loosen the housing screws to easily replace new tapes or even better tighten or loosen the tension on the tape. I have one of these original tapes that I still use. It is over 15 years old. The newer plastic version is a completely inferior model. The tension goes out early in its life and there is no way to repair it. I am forced to buy more tapes at quite an expense. With the original model I would buy one or two a year to have on hand. Now I am required to buy six to eight. Unfortunately you supply no other workable alternative for me to choose from.Mark Duntemann
