Suunto A-15 Smoke Killer II Compass
This baseplate compass features two U.S.G.S. Scales (1:24,000 and 1:62,500), a 1/16th inch scale, and a 4x magnifier. Other features include a liquid-filled capsule with a jeweled bearing, a self-cleaning capsule attachment, and a declination correction scale. Azimuth graduations in 2° increments. Lanyard and instructions included. 2-3/16” x 4-1/16”.

Great Finnish made Suunto, and by far the best bang for the buck. It's luminous bezel and orientation marks charge up FAST with a flashlight and the accent on the needle itself glows brightest for a long time helping it stand out from the rest. Smooth bezel, thick, clear acrylic plate. 24k and 64k scales w/inch ruler aren't just painted on, they're engraved too (all markings are). They're also in black rather than red which allows you to read them even when using a red light source. It's slightly on the shorter side compared to most other basepate compasses, but it'll get the job done while being more compact. The 4x magnifier is about the size of a nickel and is clear and undistorted. And of course, being a Suunto it is accurate, smooth and settles fast. It's got the bells and whistles you need with a price allowing you to get a few, one for each pack. I'd definitely buy again.
