I actually bought this axe for throwing. I see the head is popular for WATL and IATF throwers. I have no doubt after throwing 70 rounds (700 throws) this tool is solid. The edge is still keen and has several more games in it before sharpening will be needed. As a throwing competition axe it sticks every darn time. It does over rotate a little for me and could use a longer handle, which it is destined to have soon. Other throwers might have less rotation since some of that is the person throwing. It's performance on the board has made me decide I will be purchasing another one as a camp tool.
This is a great hatchet that is packable at 2.2 lbs. It rounds out my axe collection I use along with CT 28" Boy's Axe, 32" Jersey Classic with forged bevels, Estwing 16" Camper's Hatchet, Hults Bruk 26" Torneo, Fiskar's IsoCore 8 lb splitting maul and vintage True Temper Pulaski. Using the best tool for the job makes it easier and faster. I highly recommend their products for service and value.
If yo want a great heavy duty hatchet forged in the USA this is it. Council tool is the best production axe maker maybe the only production axe maker in USA other than Snow &Nealley. Council tool axe's and tools can't be beat for the money.
