Gränsfors Bruk Model 450 Splitting Maul with Collar Guard
Ideal for splitting apart large chunks of wood, “rounds.” The maul’s head is heavier than the head of splitting axes and the poll is designed for pounding on a splitting wedge. The head weighs 5-1/2 lbs. and has a 2-1/2” face. The 31”L hickory handle has circular grooves at the grip and a steel collar near the head. Supplied with a grain-leather sheath. Backed by a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty.

It may be expensive, but this splitting maul is just fantastic. Who knew a splitting maul could be so great? I have a $35 6lb hardware store splitting maul, and there's just no comparison. This thing is a beautifully made work of art -- and a tremendous working tool. Splitting wood is hard work, and a tool like this really will make a difference, especially on big hard rounds. It's absolutely worth the money. I love this thing.
