Gränsfors Bruk Splitting Hatchet with Collar Guard
This hatchet is easily managed with one hand. The head is forged and ground concave, to a very sharp, thin blade at the bit. This helps the axe to go fast into the wood, pushing the wood apart as the thicker part hits. The axe has a 2-1/2” face and a 19”L hickory handle with circular grooves at the grip and steel collar near the head. The head weighs 2.5 lbs. Supplied with a full-grain leather sheath. Backed by a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty.

This pretty quickly became my favorite axe. It's a surprisingly capable splitter and is as good at splitting fine tinder and kindling as it is at breaking down bigger pieces. It's perfect for a camping trip where you're buying pre-split wood. Mine came with a very nicely finished handle as well, which adds to the appeal.
Works great use it for splitting wood for tent stove. Great splitting control for making small pieces to regulate heat in a tent. Sharp and holds a great edge for splitting.
