Description
Ecoturf Ecoduty Biodegradable Stakes, 6˝L, Case of 500
Made of polypropylene-based resin from 100% recycled materials. Following the initial 12 to 36 month breakdown phase, the stake degrades in the soil and leaves behind only carbon dioxide, water, and humus as byproducts. The stake’s alternating ribs and double hooks securely hold landscape fabrics, erosion control blankets, geotextiles, netting, and turf.

I purchased Excelsior Erosion Control blankets from Forestry Suppliers and they recommended using these biodegradable stakes to secure the blankets to the ground. Being biodegradable, I was concerned they would be difficult to drive into the clay hard pack soil in my lawn. They performed far better than I would have ever expected with less than 10 breaking out of 300 used. The 10 that broke were from missed hammer strikes and not a failure of the product. The Zenith Zoysia seed has germinated into grass and I would be hard pressed to find any of the stakes in my lawn.
