Have a question about this product?
- What is the largest waist size for these chaps?
- The chaps are not affected by waist size. They simply are pulled over your legs and attached to your belt. If you have very large thighs or wear pants with an inseam greater than 33.5" they may not fit, but these chaps will fit most people.
- Do these chaps go all the way to the ankle, or to just below the knee? Can't tell from the photo...
- These chaps are full length and will go to at least the ankle.
Reviews
I bought the chaps awhile ago knowing that tree regeneration surveys were ahead. There is often a covering of Himalayan blackberry also. These chaps allowed me to just wade right through the blackberry. No cuts, no scratches, just had to think about tripping and getting tangled up. Real superhero invincible kind of feeling. Now I actually look forward to walking through blackberry because I know it is where no man has been able to go before.
I work in utility Right of Way and purchased these chaps for several reasons. First, I wanted briar proof protection as briars are always conditions of my work. The second reason was to wear to keep dry from damp vegetation. Finally, the high visibility blaze orange option was perfect. The fact many Utility Rught of Ways often exist in the right of ways for streets and roads and I want all drivers to see me for my safety. The chaps are tough, light weight, water proof, and high visibility blaze orange I give them 5 stars.
I have used these type of chaps for going on 4 years (I did have to replace mine since I use them almost everyday in the field - which is 90% of my time). They do get warm in the summer (though between long pants, long sleeves, and boots it doesn't make that much of a difference), but they are worth it for leg and pants protection -- I treat them with permethrin and they help with tick protection during the warm season as well. I buy these for all my crews. I did experiment last season with another brand for my newest crews, but the chaps did not hold up to the multiflora rose and pear trees...so I switched right back! I would highly recommend these. Great product!
