Constructed of abrasion-resistant 1000 Denier basketweave DuPont Cordura® nylon, with single-layer protection above the knee and double-layer protection below the knee. Water-resistant polyurethane coating. Adjustable side straps and a heavy-duty, non-corrosive zipper hold each chap securely in place. Briar- and thorn-proof. Color: Brown.

Hot and heavy. If all you need is snake protection, I would look to some of the gaiter sized options available. HOWEVER, if you are working in conditions with blackberry or other herbaceous with briars, you will be so thankful that you have these. Good at turning briars from the waist down.
The design is excellent.Easy to take on and off. The fabric is sturdy. They are a little hot in warm weather but the protection is a good trade-off. The inexcusable problem is appalling sewing.The zip tore off because the thread burst.Most fabric edges are raw and raveling. The fabric was cut short at the last snap so the snap will get torn off. I have spent a long time re- sewing the zips and hems. The entire garment shows multiple failures of sewing - loose ends ,loose threads,gaps in sewing.
