Best unit ever, I bought this for myself because I burn a lot of dried up sloughs and it's hands down the next best thing to a well set up bush truck. I also volunteer at the local fire station and wanted my own personal unit for my truck to deploy quicker. Everyone at the fire hall wishes they had my smokerchaser pro and if we had better funding I think we would definitely upgrade. We tested vs reg indian and it puts out nearly twice the water than reg pump. Very tiring but with adrenaline you keep going down the fire line. After the 5th fill in a large fire on a hot day it drains all your energy and you need to go home. Wear wildland gear not turn out gear to reduce weight. I ran through burning trees and an ember started to burn through it almost wrecked the top strap, did not puncture the bladder I dont know how, fantastic unit, folds up small in my truck.

We love this pack. All who use it are happy, and we "discuss" who gets to use it next. Very comfortable, allowing us to carry more than our usual amount of water. The pockets are truly useful. It seems quite durable, always assuming good care. Our only gripe is the dual action pump we unwisely chose with it. Very heavy and awkward, quite tiring to pump compared to the old standard pump, and the dual action is no real advantage for us. The return action stream is weak in any case. Well, unless you are stronger than most of us - - -
