The best dog proof trap on the market. I have used several brands. No setter needed. I use my boot on the anchor point and the other boot to set. I attach wolf fang anchors. Easy and quick.
I have used other brands and have had animals get away. I have used the Freedom Brand for a couple of years and found the retention to be superior to other brands. I have yet to lose one in these traps. I will be buying more and recommending these to others. I use a 2-foot piece of rebar with a nut welded to it and a 1/16 in. wire braid for lanyard... And yes... ANCHOR WELL!
Great design, made so trips by either pull or push and easy to set by hand, no tools needed like other off shore manufactured brands. Have had bait taken without tripping, but when it did, never lost the perp. Also be sure to secure to good anchor/chain clasp, general spring loaded dog snap hooks will fail, threaded chain couplers are best!
