I work in utility Right of Way and purchased these chaps for several reasons. First, I wanted briar proof protection as briars are always conditions of my work. The second reason was to wear to keep dry from damp vegetation. Finally, the high visibility blaze orange option was perfect. The fact many Utility Rught of Ways often exist in the right of ways for streets and roads and I want all drivers to see me for my safety. The chaps are tough, light weight, water proof, and high visibility blaze orange I give them 5 stars.

Field Biologist in DE

I have used these type of chaps for going on 4 years (I did have to replace mine since I use them almost everyday in the field - which is 90% of my time). They do get warm in the summer (though between long pants, long sleeves, and boots it doesn't make that much of a difference), but they are worth it for leg and pants protection -- I treat them with permethrin and they help with tick protection during the warm season as well. I buy these for all my crews. I did experiment last season with another brand for my newest crews, but the chaps did not hold up to the multiflora rose and pear trees...so I switched right back! I would highly recommend these. Great product!

I am a field biologist and run into sites that have dense blackberry areas that I must conduct transects through. Tired of tearing up my legs, knees and thighs I reluctantly bought these thinking they would be too hot and I wouldn't wear them (I work in Florida so it is hot a lot). I LOVE these things!!! Yes, they do get a bit warm but its worth not being torn to shreds. They are awesome!!!

What is the largest waist size for these chaps? What is the largest waist size for these chaps?
The chaps are not affected by waist size. They simply are pulled over your legs and attached to your belt. If you have very large thighs or wear pants with an inseam greater than 33.5" they may not fit, but these chaps will fit most people.
