Blades are made of high-quality, heat-treated carbon alloy steel. Sharpened on both sides. The back end of each blade is also sharpened for scalping. Please Note: Complete order consists of four stock numbers – one for blade, one for bracket, one for handle and one for bolt pack. Handles will be securely mounted to brackets unless you state otherwise.

Flat Blades
The shape of the original hoedad, for all-around planting conditions. Blades are 4" wide at bracket end.

Thin Blades
Also called “plug hoes.” Preferred for smaller bare root stock. Thinner blade slides easily between rocks in the soil. Widely used in the South to plant bare root pine seedlings.

Concave Blades
Penetrates the soil easily and helps keep the soil from refilling the hole while you place the seedling in the hole. Blades are available in 17" or 15" lengths, both measuring 4" wide at bracket end.

90 Degree Bracket
Holds blade at a 90° angle from the handle.

100 Degree Bracket
Holds the blade at a 100° angle, allowing the blade to enter the soil at a more vertical angle.
