Haglöf 360° Transponder Adapter

Used with Haglöf Vertex IV Hypsometer

Combining a laser, ultrasound, and tilt sensor, this precision instrument provides accurate and reliable distance, height, and angle measurements. Use the laser or ultrasound alone as a rangefinder or in combination with the tilt sensor to measure heights and angles. To achieve more accurate distance results at shorter distances, even through thick vegetation, use the ultrasonic feature along with the transponder. Ultrasonic measurement provides results in meters or feet and allows measurements to be obtained even when a clear line of sight to the target is not available. The Laser Vertex is Bluetooth®-capable and also features a reverse prism function (BAF feature) which has built-in prism factors of 5, 10, 15 and 20 (English) and 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 (Metric). The laser function allows you to work without a transponder and take measurements at longer distances in meters or yards. The laser features 8x magnification for precise aiming. When using the laser, the transponder can be used as a visible reference point. Laser Vertex hypsometer unit, 60° transponder, and case included.

This is the absolutely the best instrument for measuring through brush (ultra-sound)! With one person in a stream and the other on the bank with the transponder, you can lay out steam buffers in 1/10th of the time you would take to use a logger's tape. For cruising timber the laser function makes taking tree heights very easy and quick (also very accurate). This laser will shoot through a very small opening to get your distance and then the heights can be gotten without a real clear view of the base or the top, which is great if you are in a brushy area. This is a very durable and handy instrument and a real time saver. If you have to measure distances through brush such as riparian managment zones, this instrument will pay for itself in no time at all. In cruising timber, for tree heights all you have to do is find a vantage point off of plot center and within a minute or two you will have 6-7 tree heights measured and is great to help in determining tree defect!!! I highly recommend this hypsometer.
